Synopsis for "Thursebolt"

It is the festival of Thursebolt, the celebration of Thor. The Asgardians are all gathered in the halls of Asgard awaiting the arrival of the Thunder God himself. A Rock Giant named Gravelmir arrives with a gift, a fine statue of Thor. As Balder welcomes him and thanks him for the gift, he tells Gravelmir to greet the others while Bragi begins a tale of the Odinson. Gravelmir makes his way around the hall, and as he greets the others, they all turn to stone. Revealing himself to really be the Grey Gargoyle, he promptly turns Balder to stone as well. With everyone inside the hall petrified, the Grey Gargoyle locates the Asgardian treasure vault and locates the item of his quest - a golden apple of Idunn. With it, he plans on gaining immortality. Unfortunately for him, Thor has finally freed himself and attacks the Grey Gargoyle. They battle back and forth, until the Grey Gargoyle manages to freeze Thor once again. Until he notices that the apple is petrified in Thor's hand, unable to be freed. With the guards alerted to the battle, the Grey Gargoyle flees without his treasure.

Notes

I really liked this issue. It's a fun, simple story, but I'm not sure how it's supposed to "introduce" new readers to Thor. There's flashbacks, but it's just one simple image that doesn't explain what's been going on for the last few years.
