Synopsis for "When Fall the Gods!"

On an alien planet, a city in the sky crashes to the ground. The earthly inhabitants bemoan the death of their gods but the gods' slayer tells them to live as free men do. On Earth, Jake and Christine arrive at a gang war scene and try to save wounded gang members. As one of the thugs threatens to shoot Jake, Beta Ray Bill and Hercules arrive and subdue the gangsters. The two friends tell Jake that Thor is needed on Olympus (Realm), where Zeus reveals the Silent One, a harbinger of danger. The Silent One takes them to an alternate Olympus (Realm) in ruins, with Zeus dead, before showing them the history of Desak the God Slayer. Desak's daughter Loatia is selected for sacrifice to the god Kronnitt. A Spirit appears to Desak, tells him to protect his daughter and offers him a jewel of power to fight Kronnitt, but Desak allows his daughter to die. Later, Kronnitt appears and decimates the land anyway, killing Desak's wife Almonas. Desak accepts the jewel and becomes Destroyer of Gods, traveling the universe slaying them. The heroes travel to confront Desak, arriving on a world ruled by Pennsu and Tae, cruel gods denying their people water. Desak attacks Pennsu and Tae but Thor, Hercules and Bill repel him. Angered, Pennsu and Tae unleash an energy blast on their worshipers. Thor stops the blast, causing rain to fall and the survivors to worship him. Thor returns to find Pennsu and Tae killed by Desak who spares Thor, for now, for aiding the people below. Desak departs. Thor recognizes that they will encounter Desak again.
