Synopsis for "Part the Second: The Kindling"

As Thor holds off the Asgardians, Loki flees. Thor battles Fandral and Hogun, until Heimdall calls to them all, bringing the battle to a halt. The All-Mothers, being accused to treachery, agree to be confined in order to the point that they have not. Thor rallies the remaining Asgardians to go and fight against Surtur and his Vanir slaves. Watching from the shadows, Sif sees them go and then runs to speak to the All-Mothers. Across the Nine Worlds, the Asgardians battle the Vanir, along with whatever the race of that realm. In Niffleheim, Thor and Heimdall battle until Heimdall tells Thor that Loki is nearby. Thor catches him and Loki tells him that he never wanted any of this, yes he made bad choices but they were always for the best of reasons. Thor tells Loki that he believes him, but he must stop running and trust him as well. Loki tells Thor that he's heading to Hel in the hopes of gaining Hela's support, and they part ways.

Back in Asgardia, Sif visits the All-Mothers and Freyja tells her how she came to be Odin's bride, as an offering of peace between the Aesir and Vanir. They go on to tell her that since they have no heirs born of Aesir/Vanir blood, there could be no true union between the tribes. Outside, the Warriors Three are discussing who should lead Asgardia and they feel it should be one of them. In Hel, Loki has gained an audience with Hela, asking for her help to stand against Surtur and the Vanir. But she declines, saying what will be, will be. In Muspelheim, Surtur is speaking to his herald. The Herald tells him that with Loki rebuffed by Hela, they will try to gain access to the evidence the Herald secreted to Volstagg, and they will then try to enter Muspelheim to gain the secrets. The Herald wants Loki to come, for she was promised revenge, and removing her mask, Leah tells him that she knows Loki better than anyone.
