Synopsis for 1st story

Freyja, along with others, begin noticing things starting to smoulder and burn. In Broxton, Thor tries to put out a fire but to no avail. The fire department's fire hoses are having no effect, so Thor calls down a torrential rainstorm and then snow, and yet the fire still burns. Across town in the school, Jeff Fischer is mumbling something in runes and carving things into his desk while his eyes burn. Outside, magpies begin burning and falling from the sky. Loki and Ikol notice this and Loki says it seems familiar, so they head to Asgardia. There he talks to Freyja and she tells him of a dream from long ago, of a battle between the Aesir and the Vanir. Odin wanted to join the two but Freyr refused and went to Surtur for help in fighting them off. He agreed, but for an unknown price. There was indeed war between the two, which was only halted and peace purchased with the marriage between Odin and Freyja. Back in Asgardia, Thor stumbles into Loki's chambers with massive burns covering his body and his cape still smouldering. Loki goes to tend his wounds and is concerned because he doesn't understand a fire that can burn gods. In Valhalla, Bill and Kelda have gotten married, but she awakens to find him not in her bed, but looking out the window. Going to him, he shows her outside, where Yggdrasil is in flames.
