Synopsis for "Your Life Is A Story I've Already Written"

In Asgardia, Old Loki spies on his younger self meeting VerityTemplate:Ref. But has work to do, so he walks out of his cell and into the ancient past where he waits for Prince Odin, who he joins on his travels. They eventually come upon a river, where Loki kills an otter for food and cloaks. Odin is upset by it, but lets it pass. Later, they come across an inn where they are met by Hriedmar and his sons, who are waiting for his third son Otr to come home. When they discover what Loki and Odin had done they demand a blood price. Enough gold to cover the coats they had made, while Odin stays with them, Loki is to get it. Loki travels to where Andvari is hoarding his gold, and being in the shape of a magical pike, could not be harmed, except by the bazooka Loki had brought with him. With his dying breath, Andvari curses the gold to force anyone who possesses it to tell the truth. After Loki returns with the gold and he and Odin take their leave, Fafnir kills his father and tries to kill his remaining brother. Fafnir hides and hoards his gold, while Regin forges his vengeance into a sword he names Gram. Over time, Fafnir, not eating or drinking, changes into a dragon from feeding off Andvari's magic. During the years, Sigurd the Ever-Glorious begins his legend, and after a time comes upon the same inn, where he meets with Regin, who tells him his tale. He offers the sword and the gold to Sigurd if he but brings the dragon's heart to him. Sigurd agrees, and after killing Fafnir, he takes his heart. During the roasting of the heart though, a magpie warns Sigurd of Regin's betrayal allowing him to strike first. Sigurd at the heart becoming unmortal, and went on to pass his legend far and wide. Years later, Bor died and Cul became the All-Father. During this time, Old Loki found Odin again and bade him hide the sword Gram in a magical box he had Odin build with locks and keys spread far and wide. In the present day, Sigurd scales the mountain to the hiding place of Gram, only to discover that Loki had gotten there first, and vows to get his sword back.

• Loki heads back to the dawn of Asgard to join its greatest heroes on a quest for an otter- skin of gold, the heart’s- blood of a dragon... and a certain magical sword. • Meanwhile, Loki does not appear in this issue.
