Synopsis for 1st story

In a purgatory-like realm, an Rūna (Earth-616) remembers her past, her sisters dying at the hands of a hidden enemy.

In orbit around Earth, Jane and the Sentry's spirit talk about what is happening back down on Earth. The Rūna (Earth-616) is in a bar drinking and fighting, trying to forget her past. As Jane is flying the Sentry to the afterlife, they talk about the little things he remembers, making him happy, when the encounter the body of the Celestial, whose head became Knowhere. Out of it fly corrupted spirits. Jane tries to fight them off when the Sentry is captured and dragged inside. The Rūna (Earth-616) continues to remember her past, including her love Alta, and more of the final battle, including her own death. Jane hurls Undrjarn through the black wall to try and rescue the Sentry, but instead manages to pull out the Rūna (Earth-616).

When the King in Black comes to Midgard, Jane must rebuild the Valkyries to help stop him -- starting with Hildegarde, a warrior from Asgard’s own hallowed halls, and X-Man Dani Moonstar, a former Valkyrie herself. But what Jane doesn’t know…is that she never was the only Valkyrie after all. Who is the fourth warrior? Jason Aaron and Torunn Grønbekk team up with artist Nina Vakueva for a story that will rock the foundations of the Marvel Universe!
