Synopsis for "The Thunder God Strikes Back!"

Thor flees into the crowd, turning back into Don Blake. Hyde and Cobra threaten the crowd if Thor doesn't appear. Blake steps forward and promises to reveal where Thor is hiding if the villains will retrieve his cane, which, he claims, was accidentally caught within the hydraulic hoist. The crowd calls Blake a traitor, but Hyde returns his cane. Don dives back into the crowd, turns into Thor, and quickly defeats Cobra. As the police arrive, Hyde transforms into Calvin Zabo, melts into the crowd, and then follows Thor. On a deserted street, Zabo turns back into Hyde and attacks Thor, separating him from his hammer. The two battle, with Thor dispatching his foe and handing him over to the police, all within 60 seconds. Don returns to his office, where Jane reveals that she heard on television about his betrayal of Thor. She leaves in disgust.

Synopsis for "Balder the Brave"

Odin demands to know why Balder left a battle against the Storm Giants. Balder explains he was helping return a baby bird to its nest. Angered, Odin puts Balder through the Test of Mortal Death. When Tyr shoots an arrow at the unflinching Balder, a hawk catches it. A plant tangles up Honir's thrown spear. Having proven Balder's bravery matches his gentleness, Odin reveals that he summoned the hawk and the plant. he grants Balder invincibility.

Notes

  • This Tales of Asgard states that it was Odin that granted Balder his invincibility, which is incorrect.
