Synopsis for "Giants Walk the Earth!"
Odin comes to Earth to assert his authority with Thor, investing Loki with a portion of his power to rule Asgard in his stead. Loki uses that power to free Skagg from the ring of fire in which Odin imprisoned him and Surtur from the Earth's depths. Seeing this, Heimdall sends Balder to Earth o warn Odin. Thor meets Balder, then relays the news to Odin who transports the entire human race in suspended animation to another dimension to keep them safe from the threat. Soon after, Thor and Balder engage Skagg and Surtur. When Odin steps in, Surtur flies to the Arctic to melt the ice cover while Skagg batters Manhattan with a hurricane. Odin covers the city with a protective shield then drains Skagg's strength with his magic sword. Loki uses Odin's own power to bolster Skagg so Odin exhausts himself in victory. Thor takes Odin's sword, using it to attach Surtur to a magnetic asteroid in another galaxy. In Asgard, Odin punishes Loki, sending him to serve the Trolls. His anger toward Thor passes but he still worries that Thor's heart is weakened by love.
