Synopsis
The near-apocalyptic Fire and Ice spell was cast d uring an extended conflict between Earth's Sorcerer Supreme Dr. Strange and the Sons of Satannish, power-hungry human cultists who had sold their souls to the demonic hell-lord Satannish for mystical abilities. Armed with Satannish-empowered Crystals of Conquest, the Sons overpowered Strange, exiling him and Clea to a hostile dimension using a spell from the Book of the Vishanti. The Sons intended to cast the book's Fire and Ice spell so they could summon Asgard's fire giant Surtur and ice giant Ymir as part of a scheme to gain ultimate power, but a fail-safe spell placed on the book by Strange teleported it into the custody of his mentor, the Ancient One.
