Synopsis for "The Flame and the Lightning"

Pluto tours Tartarus to see his prisoners in torment. Loki contacts Pluto to remind him of their bargain[1] and that he hasn't gone after Thor yet. Pluto sends his astral form to the Flame and tells him he can have his revenge on Thor by serving him. Pluto gives his hellhound Cerberus to Flame as his mount. Loki telepathically contacts Sigyn and asks her to monitor Odin and ensure he doesn't suspect his involvement in the attack. At Mount Mount Wundagore, a sudden tremor strikes the High Evolutionary's base. Thor senses it came from Hades and investigates, finding Cerberus and Flame. Flame defeats Thor and ties him to Cerberus so he can kill him before Odin's eyes. En route to Asgard, Flame journeys through Nastrond and kills three Asgardians. Sigyn comes across Flame on her way to Odin's palace and Flame tries to kill her. Enraged, Loki uses his astral form to possess Thor. Together, they defeat Cerberus, but Thor drives Loki from his mind to improve his dexterity, finally triumphing over Flame. Thor promises to keep Loki's actions secret from Odin. As Thor returns to Earth, Heimdall and Odin each briefly sense his presence.
