Synopsis for "Thunder in the 31st Century!"

Thor battles terrorists who have taken over a Roxxon building containing a nuclear reactor. Thor disables the reactor but it appears to come alive again. When Thor tries to stop it, he and the reactor disappear, appearing in a lab where a shadowed figure is surprised that his time-probe picked up a passenger. With his computer identifying Thor, the figure teleports him out into deep space, where he freezes. Aboard the Freedom's Lady, the Guardians of the Galaxy pick up readings of a dangerous power beam traveling through space. When they investigate, the shadowed figure sends a meteor storm to knock them off course. Starhawk finds Thor in space, bringing him aboard for revival. On his world, the shadowed figure, revealed as Korvac, explains to his Minions how his power beam will eventually reach Earth's sun and cause it to go nova, granting him enough energy to power his devices for ages to come. Thor awakens and joins the Guardians as they investigate the power beam, teleporting to the surface of Korvac's world. As the others battle the Minions, Thor and Starhawk confront Korvac who uses devices to make them fight each other. Their battle causes falling debris that forces Korvac to teleport away, breaking his control over them. Thor destroys the power beam source and Starhawk uses the time probe to return Thor to his own time. Thor and the reactor return to the Roxxon lab. Exiting the building, Thor ponders the Guardians' heroism.
